The Brief:
The client wanted to transform their outdoor space by enclosing their existing brick-built pizza oven and flue within a stylish and functional glass garden structure. The design needed to ensure the flue exited safely through the roof while maintaining the sleek, modern aesthetics of their property. Spanning 4.5 meters by 5.5 meters, the structure was to create a dedicated outdoor dining space that could be used year-round.
The Solution:
The Vue Pod was selected as the ideal structure to meet the client’s requirements, incorporating thoughtful features and design elements. The Vue Pod was custom-built around the client’s existing brick-built pizza oven, with a carefully designed aluminium panel in the glass roof to allow the flue to exit safely. This ensured proper ventilation while maintaining the sleek design of the structure.
Spanning 4.5 meters by 5.5 meters, the Vue Pod creates a spacious and dedicated outdoor dining area. The glass roof enhances the sense of openness, filling the space with natural light and offering clear views of the sky. Sliding glass doors were installed, allowing the space to open fully in the summer. This feature enhances airflow and creates a seamless connection with the surrounding garden.
Dimmable spotlights were incorporated into the rafters, ensuring the space could be used at any time of day, ideal for late summer evenings, when enjoying a fresh pizza with family and friends. The adjustable lighting provides both functional illumination and the ability to create a cosy or festive atmosphere, depending on the occasion.
The structure’s Anthracite Grey frame was chosen to match the client’s existing window colour, ensuring the new addition blended harmoniously with the overall design of their home. This Projects Specifications
