Add Louvered Walls to Enhance Your Outside Structure

As well as our traditional Louvered roofs, Louvered walls can also be included, giving you the ultimate in style and helping to make the ideal structure for your home.

Our vertical aluminium louvres allow for adequate ventilation, whilst also increasing privacy on those cosy evenings indoors. For an optional extra, you can include colour-changing LED lights, allowing you to control the mood in your permanent structure.

These garden structures can also be personalised to your own tastes, allowing you to show off your individuality.

The Louvered walls are operated manually and the personal touches don't stop there either, as you can partly or fully cover any side of your outdoor living structure.

White Perimeter LED Strips

To add an extra touch of class to your Louvre Pod®, why not consider adding an LED white perimeter strip to your garden structure?

These strips contain a full perimeter dimmable LED white light to ensure full visibility when sitting in your outdoor structure after the sun sets, so you can enjoy the space at all times of the day. You can set how bright the light is straight from the mobile application to suit your desired mood, with smart functionality included out of the box!

If the Louvre Pod® isn't quite right for you but you like the idea of an outdoor building with lighting included, the Gibus Med Twist might be a better option. The Gibus Med Twist is another bioclimatic pergola that includes several lighting options, such as LED blade tips, LED perimeter points and RGB LED strips.

Wood Effect Roof Blades

While our Louvre Pods are made of metal, you might be wanting more of a rustic pergola aesthetic. The good news is that one of the things we can implement into your design is our wood effect roof blades, giving you a good happy medium between the two substances.

Take your structure one step closer to nature with the aesthetics of a natural wood look roof. The aluminium blades can be finished in 3 oak colours, which you can choose depending on your preference:

Our Seamless Glass Sliding Doors

One amazing addition to our Louvre Pods is our 10mm frameless glass sliding doors, allowing you to look out into your garden whilst also remaining warm inside.

These gorgeous doors can be used to open up your living area during the summer months, meaning you can host a garden lawn party without fearing the elements! In the winter months, closing the doors will create a wind and rain barrier. This means you can still enjoy the space even if the weather is cold outside.

You have the choice over whether you'd like the doors to open from the centre or the side, which is something we would talk about and decide on during the initial site survey. The colour can also be chosen, however our pergolas are usually powder coated to be the same colour as the structure itself for a seamless look.

Pick Our Awe-Inspiring Alutex Sliding Doors

Our Alutex sliding doors allow a little more customisation than the other door types on offer, available in over 50 different covers.

Alutex is an aluminium glass fibre material that has fantastic aesthetic qualities, as well as being particularly durable. This makes it a great addition to any home, and is particularly useful when it comes to the design process.

These doors consist of 2 rot-proof and mould-resistant Serge Ferrari fabrics, encased within an aluminium frame. The frame can also be powder coated to the same colour as your structure if you wish. There is little to no maintenance required, making our Alutex sliding doors perfect if you're on the go often.

Use Our Wooden Slatted Sliding Doors to Make Your Property More Homely

If you'd like something a little more traditional, our wooden slatted sliding doors are perfect, full of charm and warmth.

These thermally hardened wooden weatherproof doors are encased within an aluminium frame. The wood in these doors is resistant to rain, mould and rot, making them perfect for anyone living within an area with ever-changing weather.

The backs of the doors have another layer of protection, as they feature a weather-resistant Serge Ferrari fabric. This fabric has over 50 colours available, so you can tailor your doors to suit the style of your property.

Change Things Up With Our Vertical Glass Sliding Walls

Sliding doors are all the rage at the moment, but another addition to consider is our vertical glass sliding walls.

These fantastic glass sliding walls will give your structure shelter, without blocking your views, allowing for a nice happy medium throughout the year.

The vertical glass sliding wall consists of 3.8mm toughened glass panels and can be used all year round. In terms of measurements, the maximum width achievable is 4.25m and a height of 3m.

When fully opened, the glass stacks at ground level to balustrade height. The height when opened will be 1/3 of your internal structure height.

At Open Space Concepts, we offer several different sun shades and privacy screens in a range of sizes and colours.

Our screens with zips are integrated with side guides to ensure the fabric is stretched taut and fit flush to your windows. Our remote-controlled screens are perfect for protection against sun, light wind and rain, allowing you to open and close your screens with the simple touch of a button.

More than 50 colours are available to choose from, allowing for a greater degree of customisation. Our sun awnings are another added extra that can be included at an extra cost, used to deflect the bright sunlight during the summer months.

What Is a Pergola?

Pergolas are outdoor garden structures, used as outdoor living spaces or outdoor rooms. They've become increasingly popular in recent years, with wooden pergolas also becoming increasingly common, alongside more traditional aluminium pergola and metal pergola designs.

Pergolas can differ greatly, with many variations on the theme available.

These garden structures are usually used to cover walkways and paths, with vines and other plant life often used to add a pretty touch. They're sometimes considered to be a form of gazebo and may also be installed as an extension of an existing building or terrace - although many people choose to have standalone pergolas as well.

Another similar form of garden structure is the arbour. Whilst arbours can be combined with pergolas, they're technically different. Most of the time, an arbour is classed as a set of bench seats with a roof, often made from wood (although this is not definitive).

As you can see, there are many different forms of pergola available to you, giving you a great deal of choice over your garden space.

What Types of Pergolas Exist?

Like with any permanent structure, pergolas come in a range of colours and sizes, with suitable alternatives available for any garden. Different materials can be used to make the perfect pergola for your garden. Wood and metal options are popular, with aluminium pergolas increasing in popularity over the years.

Whilst there are several different types of pergola on the market at the moment, there are two different types that we specialise in at Open Space Concepts - the freestanding pergola and the lean-to pergola. Lean-To Pergolas

Lean-to pergolas are one of the most popular forms of pergola on the market at present, having a long and rich history through the centuries. Pergolas are thought to have originated in Italy, with the term itself coming from the Latin word 'pergula' - loosely translated as 'projecting eave'.

Lean-to pergolas are built as adjoining structures to existing buildings, adding extra room and space to your home, as well as brightening up your garden.

By adding a lean-to pergola to your property, you can add extra value to your home. You'll also create an extra room to use, which could be particularly useful when entertaining in the summer months.

Most contemporary metal pergolas tend to be lean-to structures nowadays, although freestanding structures are still available.

Most of our designs tend to be of the lean-to variety - we have a huge range of different options available, with something suitable for every garden!

Freestanding Pergolas

Freestanding pergolas are less common than their lean-to alternatives, although they're still popular. As the name suggests, these formations are not attached to any other buildings or structures, standing on their own.

A gazebo is a good example of a freestanding pergola - they can be built both open or closed, allowing for a good deal of variety in their design.

How Do Our Louvered Pergolas Work?

At Open Space Concepts, we pride ourselves on producing well-crafted bespoke pergola designs, with the Louvre Pod® being the culmination of all our efforts. The features that these homely structures have will keep you happy throughout the year, no matter what the weather is like outside!

The roof blades are perfectly crafted for any weather, with the blades forming a watertight roof once fully closed. If it rains, the water is passed down through the blades, before being filtered through the attached drainage system in the posts. The watertight seal is not just limited to the roof either, with the sides of the building also being protected.

Fantastic ventilation is another plus - by opening the roof blades, you can let a cool breeze inside the structure, which is perfect for those hot summer days. The roof blades open at a 135-degree angle, operating in a synchronised movement that's absolutely optimal for this type of structure.

Sun protection is also included - the roof blades are made of aluminium, providing optimum protection against the sun when closed. You have full control over the amount of light visible, also enabling you to open the roof blades on sunny days to let a little more light into the building.

What Is a Louvre Pod®?

A Louvre Pod® is a new type of metal pergola that we've created, drawing on the extensive experience of our skilled team. They're outdoor living structures, fitted with either a rotating bladed roof or a retractable roof to suit your choosing.

The main stand-out feature of our Louvre Pods is that they're a bioclimatic experience. This means they're designed to offer ideal comfort in terms of light and temperature, due to their totally natural ventilation system. These outdoor living spaces allow you to relax in style, without having to worry about the season or time of year.

The Louvre Pod® features a linear and elegant design. They're made of aluminium and are powder coated to withstand the most extreme outdoor elements, meaning you can enjoy this building all year round!

As the name suggests, our Louvre Pods are built with louvered roofs, which have angled horizontal slats. These slats can be opened and closed easily, rotating to respond to different seasonal elements, ensuring your pergola stays set at an ideal temperature.

The louvered roof is fitted with a series of automatic sunscreen blades that rotate up to 140 degrees, in order to adjust light and air circulation. In case of rain, the blades can be closed completely for total protection. This system allows the water to drain along the perimeter gutters, which are seamlessly integrated into the structure.
